The following are the 10 Most Asked Questions that we receive from parents inquiring information about TCA.

1.     Does the school offer scholarships and financial aide?     Yes, TCA is an approved school for the following organizations: Children's Scholarship Fund, Family Central, Florida Pride Scholarship Program, and McKay Scholarship Program.

2.     Why is TCA different from other schools?    TCA is operated with old fashion morals and customs.  We believe in educating students not teaching them.  We promote the concept of students thinking for themselves, spiritual enhancement, and a safe and nurturing environment for them to learn.  Students that leave TCA typically receive an average of a letter grade higher in other schools.  This is due to the high standard of education that our students receive.

3.     Is the school accredited?     TCA is an accredited elementary, middle, and high school.  Questions pertaining to our accreditation, can be forwarded to Florida Council of Private Schools, and Green Apple Association of Christian Schools.

4.     Are the teachers certified?     Our teachers as all teachers must maintain a level of professionalism to remain certified.  The obvious test of qualification is often overlooked - are the students learning and advancing?  Our teacher's qualifications are reviewed and certified on a yearly basis by the accreditation association, to insure that they maintain a high level of quality education instruction.

5.      How can TCA provide such a high standard of education and services for such a reasonable cost?     Very simply, the administration and teachers put their responsibility and their students before their own personal needs.  It's been said that our employees work at TCA not because they have to, but rather because they want to.  TCA is an independently operated Christian school, and is dedicated to bringing salvation to our community.

6.     How old is the school?     The school was started in 1989 as a Daycare facility in a residential home.  The Daycare grew and started offering elementary grade classes.  When the school had reached sixth grade, parents asked us to continue thru middle school.  When we reached the eighth grade, parents again asked us to continue thru the high school grades.  With the assistance of the accreditation association and other factors, we presently offer curriculums for PK3 thru twelfth grade.

7.     What kind of athletics does the school participate in?     We belong to the Florida High School Athletic Association, as well as the Florida Christian Activities Association.  We currently compete on a state-wide level in girls volleyball, girls and boys varsity basketball, and boys football.

8.     What is the school's policy on Discipline?     Private schools tend to be more discipline oriented than public schools.  Christian schools tend to have more structure.  We share both qualities.  Our students learn the right way to behave and what is expected from them the very first day in school.  Our students learn manners and how to avoid getting themselves into unwanted situations.  To review the school's discipline policy, go to the Discipline sub-heading of the Student Handbook.

9.     Does the school administer the Florida FCAT exam?     No, our students are tested yearly on a national level rather than a state level.  Each spring our students are administered the Scholastic Achievement Test (SAT).  Traditionally, most of our students receive above average scores on their SAT exams.

10.     Do the students have a Dress Code?     Yes, the students must follow the school's dress code.  You may find a detailed description of the dress requirements by going the Dress Code sub-heading of the Student Handbook.
